Our client, one of the top US investment banks, offering securities underwriting and trading, mergers and acquisitions advice, research, private equity investment, and risk management products, is seeking a Environment Management \ Support analyst.

Contract Position


Job Duties

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the knowledge required to provide effective technical application support (includes understanding of market feeds, reference data problems, batch processes, system interfaces, business rules, etc).

  • Create, own, and manage testing environments for Rates applications

  • Resolve testing support issues

  • Coordinate releases, disaster recovery, and checkouts for maintenance activities

  • Apply business and required technical skill sets to resolve issue promptly and accurately

  • Refresh an environment with a copy from production and have it ready for testing within one day

  • Create tools to manage environments

  • Develop subject matter expertise for select FX applications

  • Work with external groups and vendors to resolve environment-related testing issues

  • Performing technical support fixes - development, script writing

  • Investigating problems to find circumventions and root cause

  • Creating Known Error documents for problems

  • Assisting in managing the Production environment

  • Developing product and application knowledge

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Two years experience of 2nd/3rd line application development support or infrastructure support

  • Advanced knowledge and experience with the UNIX toolkit and KSH, regular expression, and Sybase/T-SQL

  • Moderate knowledge of Windows, high availability computing, disaster recovery, and fail-over scenarios

  • Some support-driven/tactical development experience and willingness to work with compiled languages like Java,.NET, or C/C++ (eg, testing applications, automation tools)

  • Some knowledge or an interest in foreign exchange, derivatives, or investment banking

  • Communicates actively and effectively

  • Assigns and assumes clear responsibility and accountability for results

  • Shows commitment to the success of each task and strives to successfully overcome setbacks

  • Responds to changing circumstances, displaying flexibility, and taking calculated risks
